Our story
A house built around a fig tree
The house belonged to a family of fruit traders, which is how it got its name and why the fig tree in the garden is older than the walls around it. For years it was divided into flats, with the courtyard roofed over and the well filled in. When we took it on we opened the courtyard again, kept the tiled floors and the iron balconies, and rebuilt everything else around a simple idea: a small hotel where the staff know your name by the second morning.
The old cellar became the Feigeneto casino, the ground floor our kitchen and patio, and the garden a pool with the fig tree over one end of it.

Garden pool
Shade, water and nothing to do
The pool runs along the garden wall, half of it under the fig tree and half in the sun, with loungers you can move between the two. The bar opens at noon from April to October and serves cold plates, fruit and drinks that take a while to make. In the evening the lights go on in the branches and the tables fill up.
18+ Casino floor — 18 and over
The Feigeneto Casino
One floor below the patio, the casino opens when the old town starts to fill: slot machines along the walls, roulette and card tables under low lamps, and a bar that pours until the last table closes. Open to residents and to anyone of 18 and over from the town.
